Our Approach

KIPP Prize Preparatory Academy teachers focus on literacy and personalization while providing rigorous college-prep instruction. Students spend part of their day working with technology and in small groups with their teacher, and spend approximately one hour reading independently in school. Our elective program includes physical education, yoga, art, dance, foreign language, and computer science. Prize is a SEL, social-emotional learning school, meaning that students engage in an advisory program as well as take part in restorative practices. Students have approximately 90 minutes of homework each night which includes the expectation that they will read at least 30 minutes per night in their independent reading books. KIPP Prize also offers a robust after-school program from 4:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. that includes re-teaching and tutoring, arts, competitive sports teams, and other enriching clubs.
